What Customers Say About Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution:

And the "Civilopedia" is a fantastic and esential source to understand all the game concepts.Congratulations to the designers, developers and those who built this so complex game.Music might be more varied and with options for the user to choose. A lot of things to learn and staff to manage (cities, resources, technologies, units, buildings, wonders, etc.etc).It has a good tutorial mode, very helpful the first time. Excellent graphics and visual efects. I'd only add a camera control to allow the user a 360 degree (lef-right / up-down) navigation over the map.Anyway, the map is easy to understand and explore.

Not so with CivRev. However unlike many ported strategy games, it plays like it was made for consoles (because it was made from the ground up, instead of porting the PC game).

I'm not sure if this is exclusive to the PS3 version or not. If your a fan of the Civilization series, or strategy games in general you'll find a lot to love about this game. The only reason I knocked a star off is because it occasionally freezes for a short while when you do a lot of things at once, which can get annoying.

I was pleasantly surprised by this game. If you have played Civ 4 on the PC you will notice that this game is very similar graphic and gameplay wise.

Still a solid game overall though. Strategy games on consoles often turn out bad, with poor controls and dumbed down gameplay (Command and conquer 3 anyone).

It has 5 difficulties so it appeals to those who like "dumbed down" strategy games or to those who are more "hardcore".

Best yet, two of you play against the PS3 and each other. It is much simplified, and works best when you are playing against another human, rather than against the PS3. I'd played Civ before on the Mac and PC. This version takes some getting used to if you have played it on a computer.

But back to this game, its tons of fun and easy to play, loaded with tutorials and help so you won't get lost. The thing I don't like about the game is that it is turn based. I know Sid has made games that weren't turn based, his Gettysburg game was a masterpiece of real time battle that I wish was either updated or made for the PS3. This game is pretty much the same as Microsoft's Age of Empires series, [.]. The Playstation Store has a free Demo, that's how I got hooked, check it out. It is so much like it I would not be surprised if there was a lawsuit at some point. so if you have played and liked that game on the PC I guarantee you will enjoy Civilization Revolution. Anyway, as the reviews here point out it is a very addictive game and you will spend hours building your civilization, exploring the world, interacting with other civilizations and maybe even learning some history.

It doesn't take very long to learn the controls and they are very fluid once you do. I've played Civ on other platforms and I like this one the best. As one would expect from a PS3 game, the graphics are beautiful and add a very polished feel to the game.
